Soldier returns home as wife’s in labor, has priceless reaction when he sees baby for first time

     
First Lieutenant Jake Osborne, a proud member of the 101st Airborne, came home to become a proud father of a beautiful baby girl.

 Set to deploy to Afghanistan at the end of October, the Osborne’s had just learned in September they would be having a baby. 

With the idea that his wife Chelsea would be delivering sometime soon, Jack had to leave his home to fight for his country, butalways hoped he would be able to come back when his baby girl was born.


     

On May 12th, right before his wife Chelsea was due to give birth, Jake’s commander gave him exactly what he had hoped all this time for and allowed him to go back home on leave. 

Quickly packing his bags and collecting his few belongings on the base, Jake set back to join his wife before she gave birth. 

Within two days, Jake was on a plane from Afghanistan.

As he sat in a Nashville airport waiting to return to his Athens, Georgia home, Jake received a call from his sister. 

She informed him that his wife was going into labor and gave him a play by play of everything that was happening at the hospital so he could stay in the loop.

       

       


       
     



       Unfortunately, Jake’s stay was limited due to his service, and he would have to return a week after the interview shared in the video. 

That being said, the incredible opportunity to join his wife right as his newborn baby girl came into the world was incredible.
