ER nurse asks soldier for his name, loses it when she realizes it’s her son

     


Those are the words of Tammy Smith in response to her son Brandon’s surprise of posing as her patient in the ER to surprise her just before 

Thanksgiving.Brandon is a soldier, and his family hadn’t seen him in two years.In the video, Brandon lies on an operating table with a neck brace while his mother gathers standard information such as his legal name and his address. 

She busily types away on a computer with her back to him, focusing diligently on her job.

When Brandon gave his legal name, he wondered if his mom was going to recognize his voice, but it took a little more effort than that – so he physically stood up from the operating table and greeted her.

Her response is like any other mom who hadn’t seen her son in two years. Shocked, but overwhelmed with emotion.

 It’s a precious moment and a unique homecoming, but I’m sure it’s one Brandon or his mom will forget anytime soon.
